Was late this morning and had coffee with John before my breakfast, which is now behind me! Last night I phoned Ina, my former spouse Ina, to give her my birthday wishes; she is now in her eightieth year. This I remember well in my own case. John, Tammy and Annie took her for dinner at James, which she enjoyed. Today Ina picked up her car from the Bankers Hall underground, where she’d left it to dry out from a shampoo. It worked John told me over our coffee this morn.
Yesterday we had volunteer Sunday at the Palliser in the Leduc room, where we had not been for a long time. Attendance was average, but the spirits were high and we took quite a few photos. I also took some shots of Herman lecturing as this room was better for this than our usual the Executive suite.
On Saturday I went to the Library to meet with Miles and showed him my first recordings that did have good sound with video. His expert friend did not show and he will email me when he has more info.
We both missed the laid back ambience of the Kingsland market and will probably not go back to Aveneda again.
From the Lib I trained down to Heritage to meet up with Don from where he drove us to the Aveneda Village. It was supposed to have quite a few of our former Kingsland marketeers, but only a produce and a meat merchant showed up. We both missed the laid back ambience of the Kingsland market and will probably not go back to Aveneda again.
In the evening I cleaned out stuff from the wall display and rearranged some books - Samlung Goeschen and Servire, NL - that I had not touched in years. They are dear keepsakes from my land surveying studuy time - 1955/59 in Utrecht, NL. The whole looks much better and I now have room for my Christmas decorations.
This morning my old colleagues with wives met for breakfast, but I skipped it. I did go about three years ago, but being by myself and also arriving late, I felt a bit at the perimeter, though I did enjoy myself. Next year I plan to make it though, as no one is getting any younger.
